Kareena Kapoor now has to compete with a totally different actress in one of her forthcoming films.

This is simply because the director she’s working with next - Sudhir Mishra has decided to cast Chitrangada in his movie 'Dhruv'.

Farhan Akhtar is the male lead of the film and director Sudhir Mishra found it interesting enough to team up two different leading ladies- Chitrangada and Kareena.

He’s been saying: “Both, Kareena and Chitrangada are so different in beauty, talent and personality that I’ve conceived two dramatic sequences featuring them. In terms of their look, screen presence and the characters, Kareena and Chitrangada are poles apart.”

And he has solid reasons behind casting Chitrangada.

He’s added: “How do you explain the fact that the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan that you see in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films is so special? Similarly, I instinctively understand Chitrangada’s skills and personality. I’ve been dying to cast her again after ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’.”

And interestingly it’s not Kareena but the arty actress Chitrangada who goes glam in the film.

Reportedly she’s “pulling out all stops and portraying a wheeler-dealer on stilettos with not much on except the perfume and background music.”

He calls her role to be that of an escort and power-broker in politics, a very seductive and provocative role. While Chitrangada is a femme fatale of politics and the underworld, and sports a special look, Kareena is a plain politician.

The shooting begins on September 15 in Rajasthan and the styling of the two ladies is being decided upon.

But it’s not that Sudhir is not paying any attention on Kareena with whom he worked with on ‘Chameli’.

He’s added: “Kareena is a very special actress. Before I worked with her in ‘Chameli’ I had heard she was a difficult actress to work with. But she had surrendered completely to my vision, and stood in the rain for hours for the shooting. In this film too I can see her sharing a crackling chemistry with Farhan.”

Kareena or Chitrangada - it will be interesting to se who wins this battle Because no matter how much they deny, a battle is in the pipeline for sure.

It’s been a while since we saw you...
I’m a private person and I like it this way— hanging out at home with family after work or gong on a holiday. I also like my career to be on my terms. I think I am influenced by my father— Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi— in this regard. I don’t mind not being seen everywhere.
Is producing a film more satisfying than acting?
There are various departments of production that I am not familiar with. I am more interested in the creative side. The rest is taken care of by my partner. I’m an actor and nothing beats that.

What kind of films are you committed to making?
I quite like the concept of the multiplex hero. I like to make small, realistic and interesting films which are challenging and disturbing. My films Ek Hasina Thi and Being Cyrus would have done well in today’s multiplex time. But being a mainstream actor, I cannot escape from making interesting mainstream commercial films once in a while.

You seemed to be very settled in your love life...
I am. Kareena is the best thing to have happened to me. I already feel married. It just needs to be legalised on paper and that will happen when the time is right.
Will Kareena be Begum Pataudi ?
She’s a queen in her own right and doesn't need me to make her one. But I see some people in Pataudi calling her Choti Begum.

At the end of the day, being true to myself is very important.

Q: Earlier Aishwarya Rai was in the Top 10 list.
A: Yes, I know. Everyone has a chance to be in a certain position. I think Aishwarya has had a great innings. I think it's a great honour to be where she was in the power list. Power equations in the entertainment industry change minute by minute. I'm definitely going to try my best to hold that position.
The position makes me feel very responsible. I want to keep doing the kind of work that will keep me in that list. Last year I was seen in a successful film 'Golmaal Returns' where I didn't have a pivotal role. Strangely audiences expect me to take centre stage all the time.
Q: How much of this power comes in a package with beau Saif Ali Khan?
A: We can't deny he's also one of the hottest actors in the industry. I think we are blend of looks and spirit. Saif and I are very alike. He also follows his heart and is very honest in what he does. Whether it's his professional or personal life, he comes clean.
Q: So will you continue to be known as Kareena Kapoor after marriage?
A: I haven't thought of it. Kareena Kapoor Khan sounds good. I leave the decision to Saif.

Q: Did (close friend) Amrita Arora's marriage make you wishful for your own?
A: I am with Saif constantly. For us, marriage is just a piece of paper.

Kambakkht Ishq (Hindi: कमबख़्त इश्क़) is a forthcoming Indian Bollywood film directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The project will feature Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles along with actors Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora in supporting roles. Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh will be appearing in cameos, reportedly playing themselves. Originally scheduled to release in December 2008, the film was postponed due to extensive production work and is now slated for a release on May 29, 2009

Kareena Kapoor will be seen romancing her Saif in Raghavan’s spy thriller Agent Vinod . Saif plays the title role and Kareena, his love interest. Reportedly, Deepika was the first choice for the female lead in Agent Vinod but it seems Kareena was in no mood to take yet another defeat from the young star. However, director Raghavan explains that he never approached Deepika for the film. But yes he is keen to work with Kareena for the same.

Aishwarya Rai was in news when she picked up shades worth 10 Lakh rupees. Recently Asin picked up shoes worth 2 lakhs and now Akshay Kumar has decided to wear an Italian designer suit worth Rs. 5 lakh for his upcoming film Kambakht Ishq.

A source reveals, “Akshay Kumar was shooting for his introductory scene in the film. Shabina had sent nearly a dozen suits, each priced at approximately Rs 1.5 lakh. But Akshay did not finalise anyone.”

He further added, “Then Akshay Kumar and Sabir decided to go shopping. “The scene also has Kareena Kapoor. Akshay Kumar chose a suit, which was much more expensive than what Sajid had imagined. But Sajid and Akshay Kumar are quite close.”

A close friend of Sajid revealed, “Akshay Kumar did not put on any of the suits sent by Shabina. Akshay chose a superb black suit with a hint of blue. It’s a unique piece.”

The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and the the movie has been already declared one of the biggest budget films. In this film Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh Brandon Routh, and Carmen Electra are teaming with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.

It is a well known fact that there is no love lost between the Kapoors and the Bachchans, two prominent families of Bollywood. Ever since Abhishek Bachchan and Karishma Kapoor's relationship failed to culminate into marriage, the two families have maintained distance from each other.


The acrimonious relation came once again to the fore when Kareena Kapoor made every possible effort to avoid Amitabh Bachchan at the FICCI Frames 2009. Not only did she avoid talking to the Big B, but she also tried hard to avoid eye contact. It is a rare instance when a swimmer gets afraid of water. However, such an incident took place when Kareena Kapoor stalled shoot of a sequence of the under production movie Kambakht Ishq for over six hours.

Kareena was to shoot an underwater sequence at a sports club in Mumbai for the Sajid Nadiadwala production. However; she walked out of the water in a few moments after entering it.


It was only after some production hands asked her for the reason that Kareena confessed of being scared of water. Director Sabeer Khan, then, ordered the water level to be reduced.

Kareena's co-star Akshay Kumar, too, helped her by advising her about the easiest way to execute the sequence. However, everyone at the set was surprised at Kareena's behavior since she had already shot for most of the sequence during the films schedule in Italy.

After mesmering people with her size zero figure, Kareena Kapoor is now all set to share her fitness mantra by writing a foreword for Rujuta Diwekar’s Don't Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight.

Kareena writes about being taught “to eat well, eat right and eat regularly. She also mentions that her fitness is the result of “70% diet and 30% exercise-training and yoga."

Kareena also mentions how her diet is customised to her requirements and how every meal is planned in accordance to the level of activity of any given day.

Kareena Patch up with bachchans

It is learnt from reliable sources that Kareena Kapoor has finally patched up with the Bachchans now. Few days back it was wrongly reported in a Mumbai tabloid that the actress had ignored Amitabh Bachchan at an event completely.

Infact a very close friend of the actress told us that Kareena is one person who will never do so in public. “She knows how to balance her professional life and personal life. She has never shown any animosity towards them. She has been born and brought up in this industry and the question of showing disrespect for the elders will never arise.” the close friend said.

But now Mr. Bachchan has put all rumours to rest by writing in his blog that Kareena and family members as well as the Bachchan family have always given due respect to each other. Another source reveals, “Mr. Bachchan feels that Kareena is a very warm and affectionate person. She has never disrespected her elders. Mr. Bachchan has seen Kareena grown up in front of him as there has always been a huge connection between the Kapoors and the Bachchans from the great grand father times.”

It is may be recalled that that the Bachchan family was not in touch with Kareena Kapoor after Abhishek Bachchan and Karishma Kapoor broke off their engagement. In fact Kareena and Abhishek had made their debut with J.P. Dutta’s film Refugee. The duo had also received good reveiews for their performance.

But after their split Kareena and Abhishek Bachchan have never done a film. Sources had revealed that Abhishek Bachchan had refused to do films with Kareena though she was ready to work with him.
